appreciating how strange and wonderful it is to make an intro thread on a forum in 2024, i think the last time i had activity on one like this was in 2018 before it finally died im Terrible Animal, i draw for a living ( and its the worst fucking thing ever). besides commission work i like working on my comic and drawing my characters tony & dean, who i have been working with for years. story telling and writing for characters is something i love! ive been sharing my art online for decades at this point, but the first website i ever posted my art on was the BBA forum in 2007 or something. that was my favorite place on the internet for many years, even if i wasnt ever a super vocal member. for some reason discord communities have never had the same effect on me--ive actually regularly searched for a good active forum (and even drafted up my own at one point). forums have a special place in my heart, its good to be here! |

And yeah, like you I've been pining for a forum for a long time. I think we both had the same feeling with social media and discord and stuff that we were in them, but not of them?

Welcome. And yeah, like you I've been pining for a forum for a long time. I think we both had the same feeling with social media and discord and stuff that we were in them, but not of them? its been really hard to find one with the right feel, community, and activity. i think this one is more or less already pulling from my social circles, just in a format i really enjoy, so im excited about it
i know plenty of people get a sense of community from discord, twitter, etc. i just never really have. i think theres a lot of things that dont click for me, but one of the big ones is it moves too quickly. i really appreciate that i can open a thread from a few days ago and hop in without committing a faux pas. or that the general topic slows down even further into more specific threads where everyone can expand for as long as they want without the conversation moving on. i also appreciate being able to read peoples complete thoughts without them having to break for conversation or because of a character limit.
also thanks for the warm welcome everyone, ill definitely see you around!
