Hiya everybody!! Thought I'd make a post in here :3
My name is Scorpia (Also gone by "Danfoxx" in the past) - I'm 26, and go by They/Them.
I'm a software engineer by trade, but love doing art in my spare time, and a bit of Streaming/2dtubing . Big fan of watching movies with people and hanging out with pals on VRChat. Also a huge TTRPG Nerd! (Ran a LOT of D&D 5e over the past decade or so... Still am :3)
I grew up on webforums so I was SUPER excited when I saw this pop up on my bluesky feed! Hope I can get to know some of you :3
Here's some recent art I did of my main sona, my shark (when messing around with Oil Pastels..)! Planning to make a little thread of art in here somewhere >:3

Oh hi!!! Sorry to randomly grab you like this but I was curious; how do you like being a software engineer?? Im currently looking at going back to school for computer sciences & my brother wants me to consider focusing on Software Engineering but I like to hear abt the experiences of ppl in the field before I commit 😳 u dont have to answer tho if you dont want to!! I'll have to look at some of your other art when Im off work. Vtubing and streaming is fun!! |

No worries!! I've been working as a software engineer for about the past 5 years now - actually also went to university for computer science before that (got a bachelors degree in it after 3 years) - I rather like what I do!
I think exactly WHAT being a software engineer means can vary from place to place, but for me I've worked on a lot of different things (different programming languages, infractuture, tools, etc) and it's stayed pretty interesting for me! It's a pretty large field with a lot of potential specializations/areas of interest, and I feel like if you have an interest in computer sciences/programming in general there's always something in there you can do!
I find it's a lot more creative work than people might realize (often gotta figure out how to work on problems/design things) and pretty much everyone is always learning new skills as tech/the industry is always moving, but for me I find that a large part of the appeal!
