my bf and i were talking about sonas and he mentioned he likes that my mudi isn't a common dog, much less one you'd see as a fursona. they're rare in real life too, so i guess it makes sense. i just liked how much their appearance and behavior suited me. (and I'm hungarian so it just fit even better LOL)
so now i'm curious, show me your uncommon sonas and tell me a little bit about them! |

I made a bison earlier this year!! I really like the idea of sonas that represent where you live, and the big bulky nature of them was super appealing. Plus they're cow adjacent which makes me very happy. I've always wanted a bull but never felt 100% connected to them. I named him Forge, he has one gold horn and is mostly a deep red color. I'll admit tho most of my fursonas are relatively boring species. I had to dig for a cool one  |

I went with a mole because it kind of reflected how I wanted to be perceived in an online sense, that I'd appear briefly before retreating back into my burrow.
And even though the image is AI generated the appearance and the lamp makes me think of the Hermit card of the Tarot.
There was a hmole here. It's gone now.

I was gonna make Aster more dragon-like but I didn't really vibe with it so I tweaked the design and now he's my floofy derg! I call him a floof dragon and yet he does have a bit of canine/fox in him but I still like the design a lot. Though I have thought about coming up with different looks for him, more dragon-like being one of them. Cause if he's a floof dragon, might as well make him magical and all that fun stuff! My truesona is a binturong/bear cat! I’ve been seeing them, like the animal, a bit more, but not many sonas. I made my truesona one mainly cause I’m southeast asian, indonesian, so it made sense sine they’re found there and they match my personality irl ^^  |

ummm the 2 out of three of my sonas are ... terribly basic (wolfdog and a red fox) BUT my 3rd fursony is a snake anthro! which ive seen has been gaining some traction lately so idk how uncommon it is anymore hahah ...... but heres a photo of 'em !!! :pleading_face: {art in spoiler}  they're based on a horned viper w/ some inspiration from sharks and etc teehee |

Mine is a mouse. They are not that uncommon, but still. I really resonate with the smallness, resourcefulness, smartness and cuteness of mice, both IRL and in media.  |

I have many characters that range from common to not-so-common, and the "rarest" one that comes to mind is my koala, Tunleah. Pretty sure there are other koala charas out there, simply I've never come across one so far.  |
