RAAAH POKEMON QUARANTINE CRYSTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm a HUGE romhack fan! they're my favorite way to play pokemon nowadays! i have tons downloaded. ...whether it means i've finished them or not, is another thing entirely, because me enjoying a game does not suddenly make me BETTER at playing them..lol, but still! romhacks are so cool! i checked out seaglass but i've been kind of burnt out on hoenn lately... the battle layout is so charming though! i should start that game up again!! my personal favorite romhack, i think, is pokemon quarantine crystal. it's a fakedex romhack, my faaaavorite types, and each pokemon design is AMAZING!!! the quarantine part is just referring to the project starting in 2020. it's got nothing to do with covid ... but some of the fakemons are very ooky spooky virusy. i love it. it's one of the only romhacks i've played start to finish! there's also pokemon fools gold, which i haven't finished... but it's a typeswap romhack! like, all the pokemon have new types, and new designs fitting each type. it's such a fun concept. if you want something more canon........ ~_~ i don't know those very well because i find them a little boring honestly LOL not bad, of course! i'm a big fan of drayano's hacks ( renegade platinum and blaze black/volt white 2 redux) they're moderately-kinda-sorta difficult with a LOT of QOL improvements! i've at least finished these :3 bbvw2 redux is actually a remake of drayano's old, original romhacks of bw2! but it's the same idea, just like..modernized and optimized. (it was also made by someone named aphexcubed, with drayano's help!) if you check out bw2 hacks, i'd make sure youre playing redux. i hope at least one of these interested you! :3 ... i don't actually know how well any of these run on delta, though, but they should probably be fine, right?!

If you're fan of Pokemon Crystal, I can't recommend Crystal Clear enough! for all of the quality of life and customization options that it adds, it's actually playable on original hardware if you know how to write it onto a Gameboy cart! That means it's compatible with Pokemon Stadium 2 (emulated or otherwise) as well, so that's really fun. There's documentation in their discord server on how to do that, as well as how to patch the rom with CUSTOM TRAINER SPRITES! Here's one I made back when I first started playing it: There's just sooo much this one does. There's character creation (a handful of trainer sprites to choose from and a color editor), you can use the Pokedex to adjust Pokemon sprite colors, there's a lot of balance changes done, you can do the gyms in any order I think? And lots of secret side quests and stuff too. That's probably not even half of what's added. Definitely give it a look.

I love romhacks so much, def seconding everything said about Crystal Clear! I have no idea how they did it but the dex overhaul in that hack is nuts, you can check locations, movepools/tutor moves, evo requirements, stats, and even what's available in the current route (with encounter rates!). I hardly had to check outside of the game for any of those things while playing, super convenient! The most recent hack I played was Rising Crystal, an enhancement of crystal, nothing super special but was still fun. Adds a couple redesigns, new areas, better QoL, new evos, and adjusts the dex a little to include a couple later gen mons. Increases the difficulty quite a bit though with stronger boss teams and levelcaps, def recommend the version with buyable rare candies (I did not do this and it is a GRIND if you don't know good strats ToT). My favorite thing about it is the delibird evo tho lol kramperd silliest creature ever i wish he was official so bad a couple other ones are: Star Beasts Asteroid Ver. Huge overhaul of Red that started off as a project to make a playable english version of a Chinese(?) pokemon/digimon kinda game, and eventually just became more of it's own thing. Complete fakemon dex, new soundtrack, and new areas/events. I never finished it but really felt like playing pokemon as a kid again and not knowing what's what, super cool experience. Black and White 3: Genesisa Crystal ver demake of Unova with a new story. Didn't get super far in this one but the spritework is really nice and it includes a few things from later gens like fairy type. Gold and Silver 97 ReforgedPretty much the '97 spaceworld demos of GS as a completed game, with some edits here and there. Been a long time since I touched these but super cool to explore and use some of the pokemon that were cut from the games. I only really know gen 1,2,4, and 5 hacks since i play on a modded dsi and it does not like running gen 3 very well (tried radical red of all things once and it drained the battery from full in about 15 mins LOL). for gen 4/5 I don't think there are any huge overhaul hacks yet (hoping praying this changes soon) but drayano's are definitely fun like brutalbunny mentioned! I usually play them randomized just to add a little extra interest since i've played the ogs so much but theyre great as is too ^^

Playing as a non-binary Yellow using teal colours was an experience I didn't know I wanted to have lol. Besides, the open map concept is soooo rewarding. I felt completely ftw spawning on Old Cinnabar and doing a completely nonsensical non-linear run.
I haven't previously heard of Emerald Seaglass, but it's also got my attention. I've been playing a lot of Hoenn games lately, but it always feels like there's something missing, though I can't quite exactly put my finger on what it is. Maybe this game will help brighten up that region for me :D
