Brian Eno and Harold Budd together have such amazing works such as Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror or Ambient 1: Music for AirportsTheir whole discography (Budd's the most) is pretty much ambient music. They are both pretty well known, but if you haven't you should give their music a try! I'll try to look for others. I had a playlist full of ambient music, but I don't know where it is anymore. Can't find my playlist unfortunately, I must've deleted it long ago I dunno why. But here are some more tunes I thought I should add (soundcloud edition):
Aaaand I think that's more than enough for now xdd, hope I didn't flood the thread with all my suggestions.

might i introduce you to bull of heaven...
they have a few 'short' tracks such as 'a lovely pear' that are very easy to listen to and get lost in.
and then they also have several tracks that are literally days long, it's kind of their thing to come up with these ridiculously long tracks...
i really like listening to them when i just need to zone out and focus on something, especially if i'm writing and need background noise. a lot of their track titles are often literary references and it's fun trying to find out where they're from.
here's a few more favorites, they vary in terms of feeling:

Wholeheartedly seconding bull of heaven, also while i usually prefer the crazier/scarier experimental stuff I will say both Nurse with Wound and Coil have some REALLY good ambient tracks.
also tossing this last one in since there was dungeon synth talk earlier in the thread and it's one of my favorite dungeon synth tracks EVER!

cant go wrong with the skyrim soundtrack if you want moody ambiance. i could listen to secunda for hours lol Others have commented similarly but yeah for real, Skyrim's ambient music is beautiful. Secunda is also one of my favorites, along with Frostfall. I'm not sure if this entirely counts as ambient, but I'll take any opportunity to share and talk about Ulvesang. Their music is just so soulful, it's hard for me to describe how it makes me feel. It really speaks to something in me, and maybe to you as well. It's a wonderful listen. I also really enjoy Minecraft's ost for this sort of music too.
