What are some like, wares you would like to see artists make that isn't typically made?
for example, a suggestion like pins, acrylic charms, key chains, tapestries, etc would'nt really be fitting for this thread (I feel like most artists make these lol)
Been trying to branch out as an artist and make different stuff.
i've really been thinking of dabbling in kitchen sets like kitchen towels and oven mitts or something! I think it would be cute
Would love to hear what other people would like to see?

I can't think of anything of the top of my head but I think your art would be so fitting for kitchen sets, would love to see that

I second embroidered patches. One of my favorite furry artists does custom ones & I thiiiink it's getting more common, but it's still an art form for physical art that I absolutely go bonkers for. I've seen one artist doing hand embroidered patches for commissions and it's SOO COOOOOLLLLLL
Practical use art items are rarer but I've seen a handful that are reaally fascinating. Like clips / hair clips / etc. with custom art on them.
Anything wooden carved or wittled is insanely impressive and a treat to see around.

something I've been thinking about a lot with the season change is water resistant outwear! How cool would it be to have a raincoat or windbreaker designed by a furry in your wardrobe?
also more home goods in general would be cool, I know theres a ceramic artist that makes fursona tiki mugs but imagine having a custom planter or ring stand made of your favorite animal? Amazing.

If i ever did shirts id love to do embroidered stuff... 1000000% agree. Im not huge on those shirts with huge graphics that chip off easily, (i forgot what the technique was called) though I do own a ton because most shirts with art are printed this way it seems lol

He's not a furry artist but Robert E Fuller (does these really neat nest cam documentary style videos about owls and kestrels and such on yt, if anyone else has seen those) has some really neat items in his store if you're looking for inspo! Stuff like paperweights, laptrays, coasters, mugs, pillows, aprons, etc. as someone who tries not to spend super often, more "regular use" items with cool furry designs would be really tempting ^^ Link, mods feel free to delete this if direct links are a no-no

I think wallets would be quite cool, though I'm not sure how a design would translate onto that kind of 'canvas'. Always felt tempted by the fox mug to go with my fox tea cozy.

while not a particularly 'interesting' item, im a simple man and would love to see more artists make zine/book collections of their art. its shockingly something i dont see as often as i would like! i feel like theres a little bit of wariness from artists to make books that are just general collections of their art and not a community collection or themed project. i would go wild for more end of the year type collections where artists throw together stuff they made, sketches, whatever else into a small book (they dont need to be dense). prints are great but i find that most of them never make it onto the wall due to the trials of finding a frame and wall space. i frequently have to go back and forth with myself on whether or not i really need that plastic keychain or other general merch item, but with a zine/book its a no brainer for me. in the grand scheme of things theyre pretty cheap to make, here's a great print resource if anyone is in need of one. my favorite size is a stapled 5.5x8.5, its a good sweet spot for size/cost considerations beyond that ive been doing a lot of thinking about interesting things i could make to sell and what would compliment my art. something ive wanted to try is acid etching onto metal. its not something ive seen in furry and i think it has a lot of fun possibilities at a relatively low start up. i think it could be a cool alternative to traditional prints (where i etch onto a copper plate) and you can do a lot of fun stuff with patinas and finishing. i think it could also expand into jewelry, bracelets, and keychains, as each piece will be unique given the organic process. even more niche, but theres blank metal cigarette tins you can get, and while theyre traditionally for, yknow, cigarettes, you can also use them as a wallet. lots of possibilities! side note, but i would also love to see furry vendors move away from basic shirts like gildan. i think these shirts fit terribly while being really thin. ive personally bought my fill of enough shitty shirts. bonus points if more people move into making discharge printed shirts, as these wont crack over time like traditional screen printed shirts do

One thing I'd love to be able to buy is high end sketchbooks w/ custom art printed on the covers!
I'm slowly prepping to make them myself because my needs are somewhat specific (quality watercolour paper, lay-flat binding), but if someone offered that as a product I'd be super keen.

Ah yeah, screen printed was the word I was looking for. Yeah, gotta agree with getting tired of screen printed shirts in the fandom. And gildans of course lol…. I have so many cracked shirts that its kind of insane. And I shouldn’t be expected to wash a shirt less or something 😭 I also hate the feel of screen printed shirts… like its that shirt thats gonna stick to you in the sweltering heat and crack in 2 days… no ty Funnily enough my worst cracked shirt is a furry shirt that I barely wore so I hardly know how that happened
