What's everyone's favorite holiday? Are there any cool holidays specific to your country? Do you actually HATE all holidays and wish they would go away forever? Let's hear it!
I really love halloween, the colors and spooky fall vibes are just so fun to me, there are lots of fun related activities (went to a really cool haunted forest this year!), and you get to dress up and eat candy... what's not to love really?
p.s. it is messed up that stores are already decked out with christmas merch right now, at least in the us. its not even december yet man let it breathe a bit ToT

I love Halloween but it's honestly a dying art in my small town ): It's not really feeling the same as it used to, most people trunk or treat now
I like Christmas but it was more fun as a kid when you just got gifts, and the white elephant (I think thats the name) gifting game has me making enemies in my family for sure

Purely in terms of how a holiday is celebrated, Halloween is my favorite (love dressing up in costumes, not unlike many other furries I suppose) and Thanksgiving is my least favorite (it's just food...)

Halloween is always such a cool holiday to celebrate. Although same case as Woof, it isn't really a big thing in my town either. At the amusement park I was working at, they did make it a very big thing during the whole month of October which was pretty cool actually, everyone was dressed up and everything. The weekend after, they redecorated everything with Christmas stuff, which is a lil excessive considering we're in November still xdd, at least wait till December, right?? Christmas is really the only one I celebrate with my family. We gather and have dinner on the 24th and open the presents on the 25th. It's a nice season, although I do gotta study like crazy for my finals in January unfortunately, so my Christmas isn't that relaxing nor fun.

Not the biggest fan of holidays, I find them to be more stress from expectations/crowds than anything else. I like New Year's, it makes sense as a holiday for me, the turning of a new page and recap of the previous time-cycle, arbitrary as it is.

I'm Brazilian, so naturally my favorite holiday is Carnaval! And it's a shame it's not well-known outside of my country...
For those that don't know, It's very similar to Mardi Gras or the Venetian Carnival, but the Brazilian interpretation is more about partying than actual costumes. Of course, most people dress up, but the appeal is that for 7-9 nights and days you don't need to obey boring social norms
Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of art involved, local communities often band together a year beforehand to extensively prepare costumes, choreography and music for parades (a lot of the times with very little to no government funding). But the appeal is that, yearly, all kinds of people go to the streets and party together until they either do too much stuff they will regret later or when physically can't continue partying anymore.
"The year doesn't start until carnaval ends" as most will say

I enjoy the Advent season leading up to the Nativity, and I have long preferred it to the actual holiday of Christmas itself. For quite a few years, that season and holiday was more a trigger for depression and I was not able to enjoy it, but I find as I get older I appreciate it more—although I celebrate quietly and dislike ostentatiousness and the whole gift-giving bit. I’d prefer to attend services on Christmas Eve, spend time with family at dinner, and call it good.
Easter is also very exciting, although it is also exhausting.

New Year's Eve, due to two main reasons, first of which I wanna say is more country-specific. In my home country, Romania, we have a thing for making (and sharing!) a lot of food on holidays, but especially New Year's Eve. I'm talking about plates over plates of courses over courses. I really like this, due to a possible correlation my mom told me about: long story short, Romania was poverty-stricken until '98, but what brought people together through the communist regime was food, and she theorizes that the reason full tables have become fuller is because it's used more as a mini "boast" regarding how well we're doing now, how prosperous our people can be. I'm not a patriot by any means, quite the opposite sometimes, but the way older generations point out remains of our roots makes me appreciate the people. The second reason is more abstract, but I think I just like the humanity of it. A literal wave of celebration, color, emotion, encompassing the entire globe. But how we also associate newness with it. Today is the same as yesterday, as any day, and the same can be said about the first day in a new year, but the motivation and hope that flows through peoples, me included, is something that put New Year's Eve close to my heart. An opportunity forcibly presented upon people to reflect on changing themselves, in a world where people tend to get too accommodated in sameness.
Hope that made a bit of sense at least TwT sorry for the ramble

We don't have Olivier salad, but we have an extremely similar dish called Boeuf salad, where the main difference is that instead of ham we use chicken/beef. It's always a must for every holiday, and I also love it
