I wish I'd gotten to go to more before covid ;( I feel like the big increase in attendance afterwards for the cons that survived it have changed their vibe, and there's not that many mid-sized cons in the ecosystem that are big enough to actually travel farther out for, but not SO BIG that it's harder to attend. at least not where I am right at the edge of the flyover states. It's like attendance at the smaller cons that died were absorbed by the bigger ones and nothing has taken their place yet to even things back out Attended

And maybe something west of the Mississippi? I've never traveled that far before

When I lived in Maryland: Fur the 'More 2015 Fur the 'More 2016 Bronycon 2019 I'd like to start going to some again, but I have been kinda scared to. In the social media age, they seem to have changed a lot, and it's harder to meet people 'on the spot', like you used to do, irl, say by striking up a conversation or what not. I don't usually know anyone going to cons, and it seems that now in particular, people have these long lists of friends and artists that they HAVE to see, and lacking that, I worry I'd feel kinda lost. Or not so much lost, as longing to hang out with a few good friends, and not having to worry about meeting Tooty-Ba-Footy Famous Fox tm, and all that (My close fur friends are mostly in Europe, so it is hard to meet at cons, $ wise.) That said, I am looking at going to a smaller con coming up, across the lake in Milwaukee...I figure this will be a good way to kind of dip my toes in again. Maybe some other furs in a similar boat have some advice, have not been to a con since the pandemic.

In terms of furry conventions: - ConFuzzled 2010 - ConFuzzled 2023 - ConFuzzled 2024
Yeah, there was quite a gap there. Doing NFC and ConFuzzled again in 2025.
I quite like a 'mid-sized' con. The idea of going to MFF or Anthrocon where there are literally tens of thousands of attendees is overwhelming just thinking about it!
