What internet games did yall grow up on?
For me I think it all started with Runescape, Club Penguin, and Webkinz lol
Other huge ones were Wolf Quest, Furcadia, Impressive Title (one of my biggest, lived on those forums as well), and I also dabbled in Dofus and Gaia online, as well as some CNN and Newgrounds games. Mostly some very old courage the cowardly dog game on CNN lol.
Shout out cool math games as well lmao OH AND MINICLIP
I dearly miss like most of these games!! I really wish I was a roleplayer still nowadays, idk why I even fell out of roleplaying at all bc I used to love it so much

SAME on a lot of these - spent a LOT of my time on Club Penguin, Runescape, Kongregate, etc... Miniclip too - especially back when they released their little animating thing, "Sketchstar" (or whatever it was called) Also gosh, those old cartoon network games! Shame a lot of those are like, impossible to find these days. I vividly recall a few Scooby Doo point and click adventure games, a few samurai jack games, that courage the cowardly dog "creep tv" adventure game... I'd say from that era the one that stuck in my mind in the most would probably be "Motherload" - think I got a few viruses on the old family XP machine downloading that and Mario Paint composer...
And how could I forget the copious amount of time I spent playing POPTROPICA at school ahaha

I remember that nigh on impossible samurai jack platformer, and one about like, a bunch of ravers or something.
And ahahaha! Yeah it was too easy to do back on XP. That poor family computer went through a lot - still remember the time it ate / utterly destroyed one of my sims 1 disks in the disk tray...

Mostly Club Penguin! I used to hang with my school friends a lot after doing homework. We would discuss which server we would meet each other at beforehand at the school's playground because we didn't have phones xdd. I remember I used to buy the magazine that was running in those years, watch lots of videos on youtube on how to get free items or cheat codes and more HAHAH.
Also lots of flash internet games that were being uploaded in Newgrounds on those years (Pico's School and such). I was particulary obssessed with the Papa's cooking game series, I would spend hours making peoples' orders trying to score a 100% as many times as possible xdd. Along with those, I'd play random Mario or Sonic games, Red Ball, any platformer-adventure games I could stumble upon. Mostly Cartoon Network related games that they'd upload on their page.
Those truly were the years.....

Oh wow. It's got those ones where you could play other characters in games. I was sure I imagined playing as Samus in Green Hill Zone.

Also worth mentioning one that was recommended to me around "flash game archival" - the flashpoint archive. Pretty huge preservation effort there, around 200k games/animations in there.

i started off on neopets (first forum because i lied about being 13 lmao) but then ended up on wolf quest. some of my best memories are from hanging out with irl friends and one of us playing while the other watched. i played that game religiously. that game is not an uncommon setting for my dreams even today. that game was formative.
anyway i also played webkinz, maple story occasionally. wolf-haven also was a game i spent a lot of time on during later middle school & high school, and then feral heart led to the various impressive title servers and it was like wolf quest part 2 thru high school into my first year of college.
i literally remember periods of my life in the neopets, wolfquest, wolf-haven, or impressive title eras.

You know, when you think about it, a lot of flash stuff from this era was a copyright nightmare. I can't imagine what Youtubes content attribution makes of something like animutation.

the BIGGEST and most still-relevant one to me is runescape. i genuinely love that game so so so much and along with the nostalgia i just find it so charming (particularly old school, but there's lots to like about RS3 too). other standalone stuff was mostly just the usual club penguin, webkinz, and adventure quest. man i loved adventure quest. even played a tiny bit of mechquest
i played on addicting games almost every day after school, so that site was a huge gateway for me. with stuff like raft wars, toss the turtle, bubble spinner, sniper assassin, many many hours were spent on that site. i have vivid memories of calling my friends over the house telephone and playing games online with them and telling them about what i was playing over the phone. those were the days, man.
a number of cartoon network games enraptured me too, the ones i remember playing most being bloo's big fat awesome house party and the ben 10 action game. unfortunately i don't remember much about either, but i sure did play them a lot lmao
my most obscure one, which i'm sure plenty of people do still remember but i NEVER hear anyone talk about; postopia!! there was a website themed after post brand cereals that had minigames on it. i played on that site a bit, but not extensively enough to remember it nearly 20 years later...

Was also huge on webkinz and neopets like some others have said. I got really into Grundos Cafe last year and its great! I would love to see someone make something like that for Webkinz.
