Morning Everyone!
I wandered on in from a post on BlueSky, and I'm very excited to be here. I'm Finian; I live in Ottawa (though I am originally from the east coast; and thus have a very distinct accent). By day I'm a software architect (wanna talk shop; I'm very easy going), and by evening I'm a lazy slob who enjoys hobby programming, miniature painting, and role playing. I do a bit of writing on the side, though nothing worth your time (trust me).
I've been in the fandom since the 90s (I'm 42!) and fondly remember using YiffNet IRC (now called FurNet) everyday after school. Few (if any) of the friends I made back in those primitive days are still around; hopefully a return to forums can help change that!
As I've grown older (and moldier) I've become a big fan of a variety of musical genre - these days I'm firmly entrenched in Dungeon Synth and Psybient/Psychill. If you ever want to talk about music from our youth though, I'll be happy to discuss NIN or Tool like we are highschool nerds all over again.
Big fan of SciFi (especially Star Trek) and fantasy. I gush about Iain Banks, and love forcing Tanya Huff on people. Hey, have you read "Aching God" by Mike Shel? You really should!
