This is super random and also my first attempt at starting a thread ever so, here we go. I don't know anything about raves but I love to go clubbing and I'm in sore need of some local community and I saw a poster at my uni about a furry rave so I'm thinking about going. Has anyone here been to a furry rave? (in the UK, if not in the UK, please mention that, are furry raves the same or do the differ a lot?) If so, what's it like, what do I need to know? (I've been clubbing before, is it similar to that? What differs?)
I'm autistic, detail would be appreciated c:

hi hi, been to more than I can count, last year I did that sort of thing every weekend (US). I used to love partying a bit too much ^^; They are a lot of fun! Furry and non furry. Since theyre reeeelatively the same worldwide my main advice is to have fun, but not get too messed up if youre going to partake in not being sober! Especially if you are going alone! Take care of yourself and have fun! Try not to think about what others think of you if youre like me and a bit self conscious of dancing. No one is thinking about you negatively or humorously if youre dancing, we all love to see that. Also I love making new connections and making new friends, probably my favorite part of raves.

Not from the UK myself but I have been to a couple of few furry raves and a TON of not-furry raves in the states, and in my opinion the vibe (and therefore, what you should expect) really depends on who's organizing the party! Some furry raves over here are way more similar to something like a kink/fetish club night, others feel way more "ravey" in a way that is super hard to describe. (I've been trying for the past 30 minutes and nothing I've written fully encapsulates it ). I think that same dichotomy exists in the UK, although to be honest I only know of two or three UK furry parties. I think creeps gave the best advice if you decide to go out: have fun, be yourself, and do not be afraid to dance!

hi, started djing parties around 2001:
don’t overthink it.
parties worth going to are places that are accepting. just enjoy the music, don’t overthink it, and dance however you want.
rave culture has always been about being your True Self and being open to new shit. just go, say hi to everyone, and enjoy it.
if it goes badly then it wasn’t a good party. try a different one.

Furry raves aren't so different from the normal ones. Furry raves tend to be smaller in size and budget wise. However attending any rave should be fun! Like others said just enjoy the music and vibe out (: !

I also have a question to add, how do you guys go about finding raves? Some are pretty underground and i've only heard of by word of mouth.

I also have a question to add, how do you guys go about finding raves? Some are pretty underground and i've only heard of by word of mouth. There's a bunch of different ways I personally find parties! The ones in my city are almost always advertised on instagram, along with maybe facebook and/or resident advisor. When I was first going to parties, I also used 19hz.info, which is only available in certain areas but aggregates events from a bunch of different sources and creates a calendar for them, and also provides info about genres, venue and tickets. I also sometimes learn about parties through physical fliers I get at other parties, or out on the street in record stores or on electric poles!
If you're looking for furry raves specifically, I'd hang around in a telegram chat or something like that for your area! Chances are it'll get promo'd there at least.
