This forum has me thinking about where I'd go to hang out in furry spaces growing up, and I remembered chatlands ! Specifically, I favored Wolfhome
I remember begging people to help me fill in free to use furry linearts because I didn't understand digital art lol, and customizing my profile box with a korn song you could play and feeling really cool for doing that
I'm pretty certain my username was something along the lines of bloodywolf or a similar edgy name , and my fursona was an edgy emo black and green wolf thing
I wish I had my base fill ins and character art but it's long since been lost
I went ahead and looked and saw the site is still up ! But basically empty , joined for a bit to look at the wolf poses |

i used wolfhome & some other chatlands briefly for a while. i think it was on a downhill turn in overall activity, because i found it last after mostly using impressive title/feral heart/etc. it was people from those that ended up introducing it to me

If I remember correctly thats what took me so long to join in lol ohhh yeah i forget about the whole random registration openings thing. i think an online friend at the time who played tipped me off when the reg was open. and then i think maybe it had opened more permanently for a time? maybe?? i didn't spend as much time on feral heart as i did small impressive title servers |

omg THERE ARE other chatlanders/wolfhome peeps here!!! i thought i was alone LOL
yeah unfortunately chatlands is just terrible and a ghost town now ]: on top of all the toxic activity and mods/admins (and owner) being awful over the years and NOT at all changing (and i feel like getting worse??) and constantly breaking peoples' trust (watching this happen in real time was INSANE), people jumped ship.
it was certainly a ride but i hope that site stays in the dirt </3
i wish i got into feralheart but slowly waiting for feralbound (it LOOKS SOOO good with what sneak peaks they've shown)

there's a document (or was? i dont know if i have access to it anymore?? and i dont even remember what to look for if i even do) about SOOOOOOO many things admins and again the owner have done over the years  but they also LOVE shoving stuff under the rug so i dont really know where all the information is, so not sure if you'll ACTUALLY find anything chatlands had a LOT of problems over the years but i think just as people got older it got even more painfully apparent ): and NO FOR REAL......i remember as a kid some admin was being REALLY rude for some reason??? i still believe to this day they sent something along the lines of a "FAK-U" link instead of the FAQ page |
