Predictable I know, but I'm really thrilled about brat. I've loved Charli since about 2018 and felt moved by the way that she forged her own path after meeting musicians she really vibed with (AG & Sophie, namely).
I'm happy that she's getting the mainstream recognition I know she's always craved... And with such a stark and personal album. I know she tried hitting it bigger with Crash, and I still love that album, but brat feels so true to who Charli is. I have always loved her authenticity, and it's so satisfying that leaning into that is getting her this kind of attention.
I fear I don't listen to enough new music these days
But I also really liked Sun Tub by ML Buch after seeing her play a show over the summer.
