I currently have 5 sonas , and a /lot/ of ocs, I only just managed to find a true sona for myself this year after being a furry for almost half my life.
I've had a bit of an "identity crisis" in regards to fursonas and I've mainly had multiple that represent bits and pieces of myself or my art. I've had many failed sonas and worried I might not have one that really represents me, but thankfully I made one that finally does and I thought it'd be fun to share the evolution of my sonas
I'd love to know if anyone else has had an issue with making a sona they felt represented them ? I know a lot of people have had one sona and just stuck with it, or developed and redesigned one sona over the years
(I hope I can post this here, I mainly made this for myself to look back on lol)
My "first" true sona, Duncan
I've had more sonas before this, but this one was my first attempt at having a true sona. I've gotten a lot of art of this fella only for him to now be retired

Second, Cliff
OK, I love Cliff a lot as an oc but I made him my sona because he looked cool , and I spent a lot on him, but honestly I looked nothing like this and am not sure what I was thinking

Third attempt, WOOF
Woof is still a sona! I even have a tattoo of him, I love him dearly but after a while I just didn't relate to his appearance, I don't think I really look like him and it was frustrating me, and really when I started feeling a bit of a crisis because I saw the character I deeply love and feared I just wasn't relating to him like I wanted to
I think most people associate me with him so he's more like an mascot for my art

I do think think fella looked like me but I just didn't like long hair, I sucked at drawing it, quickly lost the connection

He doesn't really have a name, I just put his TH profile as The Fool bc I was listening to that album when I made him I think. He still needs a proper ref, but I'm very happy with him even if he's just a basic wolf dog thing
He's also the reason I'm starting to learn fursuit making ! I went ahead and made him a head and I will be making paws and a tail later, debating on attempting a full suit
