last thing i watched was Phantom of the Paradise (1974), with a few friends! quite a neat movie, i loved the cinematography and crazy plot and pacing and all that, and the characters.. phew! very reminiscent of Rocky Horror Picture Show (for good reason..!), which i also like quite a lot.
8,5/10

FLUKE (1995)
It was... not great LMAO, but cute enough for something to pass the time. My younger sister sent it to me and said "it's you" - never been clocked so quickly in my life. Anyway, big recommend if you're therian, have an open mind, or an hour and a half to kill (it's free on YouTube!)
5.5/10

I honestly don't watch a lot of movies on my own, it's usually with friends who wanna show me stuff but I did go out of my way to watch Cowboys (2020) and I'd give it like a 6/10
I usually try to watch movies with transgender themes, and it was a nice movie just honestly not what I expected after watching like a bit of one trailer ? I guess I expected it to delve more into like being trans as a kid and the relationship between parents, I didn't expect (Spoilers) the father to be mentally ill , take his son into the woods to cross the Canadian border, and end up shot by cops lol
I guess I had high hopes since I watched I Saw The Tv Glow and it's hard to top that one

I remember it being a tear-jerker for sure. (The soundtrack is so good tbh I put it on when writing a lot.)

I honestly think the last movie I watched was Garfield when it was in theaters this summer LMAO It was fiiine. I think I rated it 3 stars on letterboxd. I enjoyed the background dog characters and the characterization of Odie, at least.

Oooh, love a movie thread!
Cozied up in bed last night and watched Demolition Man (1993) on Netflix. One of those classics on 90s cheese that had been on my watchlist for a while so I finally got around to it. Pretty split down the middle on it, really, maybe 5/10 or so.
Starts off with a amazing spectacle of an intro, and then we go to the future and a lot of that feels... muted. There's some pretty artsy shots at the start so I was surprised most of it plays out like a slightly lazy comedy instead of a sci-fi action thriller. Never really commits to the bit one way or the other - though Wesley Snipes elevated it a lot, he's having a great time.

Cannot wait to weevil all over the movie threads on here... Brain De Palma's "Dressed to Kill" [1980] was the choice for me and my husband's movie watch last night, first time viewing for both of us, and what a crazy fucking time that was. I absolutely loved it! I wasn't expecting the twist at all, and now fully understand why it's often referred to as [SPOILER] "De Palma's 'Psycho'".
After watching so many random movies all the time of less then average quality, you do start to appreciate when a movie is truly good.

rewatched Hazbin Hotel with my partner (first time for him since the pilot) the other day, though worry not, it was in a way that *cough* doesn't support the creator *cough* I'd give it a 7/10. maaaybe an extra .4 if I'm feeling generous after listening to a song I actually liked from it. the animation was no doubt good, they definitely had a good budget for that, but the songs were,..e eh h h... don't get me wrong though, there are one or two that I really enjoyed, but the rest were mid to just eghh to me. I feel like the show could've done a lot better without having to be a musical, and that's coming from someone who usually enjoys musicals! story-wise, I feel like some of it went by too fast but maybe they had to squeeze it all within only so many episodes because of A24? I don't know the details about that, but I'll let it slide since I was still able to follow along decently not very happy with all the voice replacements, I really think the original cast was perfect (i miss Michael Kovach so much</33) At least they did some justice, though I had to adjust to Angel and Husk's new voice first. and listen, Brandon Rogers, i love you, but you are NAWT my Katie Killjoy BRING HER ORIGINAL VA BACCKKkkk sobs one last voice nitpick, why does Vaggie turn into a generic barbie singing voice when she sings. like cmon, that does not fit at ALL overall, it did leave me wanting to know what happens next and I can count on myself tuning in for the next season, even if out of just curiosity

I have been on a journey to watch every Spanish movie I find an appeal to every friday, and so yesterday I watched Mondays in the Sun (2002).
Here's a quick synopsis of the film: Laid off from the local shipyard, Santa and his friends hang out in a bar, nursing their injured pride and political convictions. Looking out for each other, they survive on a day-to-day basis, but despair lurks around every corner.
I give it a solid 9 out of 10. Fernando LeĆ³n de Aranoa made a great job reflecting the life of those who lost their jobs unexpectedly and had to overcome the grueling situation they were living through; amazing cast ( Javier Bardem as Santa; Luis Tosar as JosĆ©; JosĆ© Ćngel Egido as Lino...); and beautiful Vigo sceneries. Really great movie, a must to watch if you wanna get into Spanish movie culture.

Watched Smile 2 with my friends for a clarinet section halloween party! Honestly a lot of the scares were predictable, at least for me, but going in with 0 knowledge of the original film but getting the idea for the monster (which was my main focus lol,, i love creature) was rather cool! especially with what happened at the end, it makes me curious for what they might do in the next film if they do one. The story was pretty neat too. Not my favorite film ever, but a joy to watch with friends, though a lot of them canāt handle horror so it was a lot of comforting after the fact kekeke
overall a 7/10, which seems to be the imdb rating as well
