I wanted to start a thread about this because it's a topic I'm very passionate about!! And I want everyone to show me their fursonas!!!
I'll add my answers to a reply in a bit~
Some fun lil questions you can answer if you want, or just ignore I don't make the rules around here
Do you have one fursona or multiple?
If you have a single sona, what inspired them? Any specific design choices you are proud of?
If you have multiple, do you have a Main, or a truesona?
Do you treat your fursona like it's a character separate from yourself, or are they Literally You as an animal?
Introduce them to me!! If you have a ton like I do, start with your main three. It might be hard to pick but I believe in you. <3

aw this is fun!!! i hope ppl hop onto it!! i put my fursona in my intro post, but here she is :3
it's brutalbunny! 1; she's my only fursona, reaaaally. unless you count my pokesona ;o 2; i made her like, around 2017ish? i was DEEP into my edgy metalhead era, and metalocalypse (show) era, where the phrase "brutal" is a huge meme. so i knew whatever i wanted to identify with had to be Truly Brutal ... but at my core, i am a silly unserious little animal, so she had to be a tiny toony bunny..! i just love her like, form? she definitely isn't an anatomically correct Rabbit and if you drew her as one, it would be a different character. she needs to be this cartoony freak!
(she was originally purple because my first fursona was purple, and they had identical temperaments lol, but now she's orange 'cus i like orange  )
3; she's definitely her own thing...? well, it feels like brutalbunny is consistently a younger version of myself (since i made her in high school,) but i'll use her as a replacement for myself in drawings sometimes. like, little tiny doodles. i used to say she was just a mascot for my art account as opposed to an actual fursona, but that's like...splitting hairs, after a certain point. honestly everytime i try to make a "truesona" it doesn't stick LMFAO

POKESONAS COUNT!!!! Please dont hesitate to share if you feel like it~ I love her origin story thank you so much for telling, this is exactly what I wanna know about aaaa. The dichotomy of being a silly animal but also Edgy. Perfection!!! Also love that you specified the cartoony proportions are such a key element, imagining a cute lil rabbit with the collar and tail does evoke quite a different vibe haha. I totally feel you about the truesona, it took many many trials for me to find one and then it ended up being a design I adopted and felt drawn to... Life comes at u fast. |

fun!! here's mine :]    sorry if the images are big, i tried to not make them huge LOL. first one is udo/coil, my hungarian mudi. second is hexen the rex rabbit, and third one is kifli the turkish angora kitty. can you tell i have a motif lol udo is my main sona but i think hexen is closest to a truesona. i haven't really decided yet :] kifli was just for fun also i generally see my sonas as Literally Me as opposed to their own characters! i also eventually want to maybe make a donkey |

And the vibes for all of them honestly, really really digging Hexen the most I think though heheh. I love the color combo a ton. ALSO PLEASE I'd love to see more donkeys around!! Would fit in very nicely with the others imo. |

i technically have 2 fursonas but one of them has been with me for over a decade <3 that being kyo  HES TECHNICALLY A SABERTOOTH NOT LION but haunt hasnt been able to edit the ref funfact his lighter flesh color is hexcode #feb900 which is my birthday :3 (i always find it funny bc he's bought, didnt make/commission him besides this redesign)  shes my lovely little church grim!! ive yet to draw/have drawn her human form but i love my creepy lil lady to bits๐๐๐ excuse the old art (i should remake her ref soon),, |

This is my guy Percival! He's my only fursona, as I feel he's the only one that feels like me, so to answer another question in a question, I do view him as the animal version of me. I actually bought his design off of someone YEARS ago and haven't changed much of anything, his first intent wasn't a sona! (first pic by me and second by woofzn!) (sorry if images are big  )    |

I've only got one, and he is me in all senses other than the fictional abilities I wish I actually had...  Fangs by Hawken Carlton, on Flickr His inspiration was combo of the fact that the rest of my family and friends decided that a coyote was the creature I was most like, rather than what I thought I wanted to be (though he's got a little bit of fox in him from that still...), and that I wanted a character with Zootopia-style design because, well, that movie solidified the fact that I was a fur. Embron does have multiple variations out of different universes (the Zoot coyote, a morph-capable fuzzy dragon from my love of HTTYD, etc.), but he's still me in all cases. |

I love this!!!!! seeing more cool creatures is always ideal :3, I've got a main and secondary fursona, both do represent me, but in different ways  this is searchie! i used to call her sapphire when... gasp... she was a my little pony.... her colors have always been the same, but she went from being Horse, to Fox, to Dog, to Hyena, to Dog, but she's always been the same colors, for me it became my icon and what people knew me for, so for me she's always going to be the 'literal representation of me' online, but frankly, i made her before I transitioned and every day I look more like her, so approaching physical, the ideal >:3c  this is xanadu! I admittedly made her as a representation of me being more reckless, but i love her the same nonetheless, her origins do not detract from her cool and large teeths |
